Life on a sailing voyage
On a sailing voyage we never use the word itinerary, as skippers will always be aiming for the best sailing and shore landings for the forecast and most idyllic or sheltered anchors and ports. They are as keen as you to include some of the highlights describe, but you have to go with Mother Nature, not fight her. The description below is based on what we think might be possible, based on past trips, or experience, but nothing is guaranteed on a sailing voyage. The sole Barbados airport is Grantley Adams International (IATA Code: BGI), a modern airport that has been awarded on more than one occasion as “Caribbean’s Leading Airport” at the prestigious World Travel Awards.
The Barbados airport is situated in the south-east of the island, approximately 13km (8 miles) from the capital city of Bridgetown, and also serves as a hub for the islands of the Eastern Caribbean
